It’s been quite a busy week in motion graphics this week. This weeks round up includes tutorials from AE Tuts, Matt Trunks, Pariah Studios, Helloluxx and Max After. Also we have news on a new 5 second project from Greyscale Gorilla and and interview with motion designer Rob Chiu (aka The Ronin).
Tutorials
Pariah Studios
A great tutorial this week from Pariah Studios on how to do achieve bullet time in After Effects. Check out the tutorial below or have a look at the other tutorials from Pariah Studios and download the project files.
AE Tuts
AE Tuts had some great tutorials this week for motion graphics, the first tutorial featured this week was how to create a realistic glass reflection in After Effects. See the preview below.
If you like the preview then go to the tutorial to find out how to create a realistic glass reflection.
The second tutorial from AE Tuts this week is a quick tip for After Effects on using Shapes and Modifiers Check out the preview below.
If you like the preview of the tutorial above then fond out how to use shapes and modifers over at AE Tuts.
Max After
Max After has a great tutorial this week on motion graphics design and how to create something that looks good. See the preview pic below or if would like to see a preview video then go over to Max After’s site to see it.
Matt Trunks
Matt Trunks has done another great tutorial this week, this time on making light lines glow in the dark. I admit that most of Matt Trunks tutorials are in French but you should still be able to follow whats going on in After Effects to achieve the effect.
Helloluxx
Helloluxx did a quick tutorial on something that probably crops up quite a lot in Motion Graphics, that is straight vs. premultiplied alpha channels. Do you know the difference? If you don’t go and view the tutorial below to find out!

Six Revisions
Six revision did a nice post on Fundamental Typography Guidelines for Motion Designers. Something that i think all motion designers should take note of!
News

Greyscale Gorilla has just launched another five second project, this time the theme is straight lines only. If you haven;t seen or entered five second projects before then basically it’s a chance to get a cool looking motion graphic for your reel, see the video below on why you should enter.
