This week in Motion Design 28/03/10

It’s been another brilliant week in motion design this week.  We have a mixture of downloads, tutorials and inspiration from AE Portal, Greyscale Gorilla, Maxon and AE Tuts.

Stereoscopic Camera rig for Cinema 4D

SV Stereo Rig v3.1 – free stereoscopic camera rig for Cinema 4D from Stefan Voigt on Vimeo.

Jonathon Winbush on the Motion Exchange posted a link to a great download for Cinema 4D. If your into all the new fancy 3D stuff your seeing in the cinemas, then download the stereoscopic camera rig for Cinema 4D.

Greyscale Gorilla

Nick Vegas aka Greyscale Gorilla, posted another great tutorial on his blog this week.  This tutorial is on how to make a spin logo transition in Cinema 4D.  Check out the preview below and go and watch the tutorial.

AE Tuts

Another great motion tracking tutorial from AE Tuts this week.  This is a nice beginner motion tracking tutorial to track a swing of a golfers club, if your just getting into motion tracking then check this tutorial out and check out the preview below.

Maxon

I discovered the Youtube channel for MAXON this week and it has some great tutorials on Cinema 4D.  They have tutorials on everything from animating text with mograph to things such as render regions and the morph tag, definitely worth checking out.

AE Portal

AE portal reported some interesting news this week, apparently great After Effects plugin makers The Foundry are previewing two new plugins at the up NAB show.  The foundry have made some great plugins for After Effect before so it’ll be interesting to see what they release.

Reel Roulette

Nick Campbell released a new project this week, called Reel Roulette. The basic concept is very similar to chat roulette, basically, you sign up and upload your reel.  Then viewers will see a random reel every time they click next reel.  It seems a great way for Motion Designers to get exposure and should be pretty useful for inspiration too.  So get your showreel sorted and upload it to Reel Roulette

That’s it for this week round up!  Hope you’ve enjoyed it and if you think we’ve missed anything out then let us know in the comments!
