It’s a bumper edition in this weeks ‘This Week in Motion Design’ due to international travel last week, so we’ve got two week worth of links, tutorials, downloads and inspiration to show you. We have tutorials from AE Tuts, CG Tuts, Cinversity, Red Giant and Noupe. We have downloads from Hypoly and GreyScale Gorilla and inspiration videos from Sliimy, Musclebeaver and Universial Everything. Enjoy!
Tutorials
AE Tuts
AE Tuts has had some great tutorials in the past two weeks, first of all we have a Hancock style jump visual effect which you can see below.
Topher Welsh also posted on AE Tuts, a great round up of Mocha Tutorials. If your into motion tracking and visual effects it’s certianly worth a look!
CG Tuts
Cg Tuts has also had some great tutorials too using Cinema 4D. The first is ‘Rigging a Detailed Tank Track using Cinema 4D, Xpresso and Mograph.’ You can see a preview of the final result below.
The second tutorial from CG Tuts to feature this week is ‘Creating a Jumping Lamp Animation‘, again using Cinema 4D to animate. Again the final preview can be seen below.
Red Giant
There has also been a great tutorial this week from Harry Frank over at Red Giant. In this tutorial, Harry shows you how to create a music to light effect. Check out the preview image below.
Cineversity
If your a Cinema 4D user or trying to learn Cinema 4D, the Cineversity’s Cinversity Live is worth checking out, basically a live tutorial where you can chat ask questions to the tutor as to why he’s doing something a particular way as opposed to another way.
Noupe
Not a tutorial as such, but Noupe posted a very good article on 2D animation and Motion Graphics workflow, it’s a good read if your just getting into motion graphics or even if you’ve been in motion graphics for a while.
Downloads
Hypoly
Hypoly yet again comes out with a great download for the motion graphics community. This time he’s ported over his After Effects Camera Script to Cinema 4D
GreyScale Gorilla
Nick Vegas finally released his long awaited HDRI Light Kit Pro for Cinema 4D. If you’ve not read about it already, then basically its a collection of scenes, lights, objects etc meaning you can quickly light your scene in Cinema 4D. A definite buy if your a Cinema 4D user. Check out the preview video below.
