It’s been a very busy week in motion design this week! We have loads of links for you to see, we’ve got inspiration, tutorials and presets amongst other things. So here we go with this week in motion design.
Downloads
There’s been a number of great downloads this week in motion design so check out some of these excellent examples below!
Hypoly
3D Ribbon / Wire in After Effects from Hypoly on Vimeo.
Hypoly bought us another great preset this week in the form of a 3D ribbon for After Effects and Particular 2. He keeps coming out with some great downloads so go check out this new one!
Helloluxx
Tim Clapham from Helloluxx updated his GI lighting presets for Cinema 4D this week, if your a big Cinema 4D user and need something to speed up your workflow then go check these out!
Graymachine
I stumbled upon these this week over at Harry Franks Gray Machine, Harry has released some free textures for anybody to use. Definitely worth checking them out!
Tutorials
There’s also been some great tutorials this week in motion design from Greyscale Gorilla and CG Tuts.
GreyscaleGorilla
As per usual Nick Campbell did another excellent tutorial, this weeks was on creating someting similar to NBC’s bumpers for the 2010 winter olympics which you can see an example of over here.
How to Make the Winter Olympics Ice Bumpers with Cinema 4D and After Effects from Nick Campbell on Vimeo.
CG Tuts
CG Tuts did a post/tutorial on motion graphics workflow this week, admittedly it’s not going to create something flash and cool at the end of it but workflow is an important part of motion graphics, the quicker we can get something done the more motion graphics we can do!
Inspiration
I’ve found alot of cool videos this week, some great inspirational peices. Check out the videos below from Alan Warburton, Jesse Thomas and electrorouge. There also some great pictures and a short video from Umeric over on Behance for some great MTV idents.
Format: A Brief History of Data Storage from Alan Warburton on Vimeo.
Other Great Stuff!
There’s a few other great things i’ve found this week which don’t really fit into the above categories. One is a link to a post discussing ‘How to network in Motion Graphics’ and the other is a funny video below on how motion graphics are created.
That’s it for this week in motion design! I hope you’ve enjoyed some of the links and if you feel we’ve missed anything out then post it in the comments and we’ll try and include it!
